Venti is an Anemo 5 – star bow user that provides strong crowd control and enables elemental reactions from his party. His playstyle mostly centers around a quick-swap mechanic allowing him to use his elemental burst and swap to a different character to do damage. Although he provides excellent crown control from his elemental burst, there are many enemies in this game that are immune to his crowd control making Venti not as useful in these cases. Nonetheless, he is still a useful support that provides a lot of utility for his party.
Normal Attack: Divine Marksmanship
In most cases, I find Venti’s normal attack not useful. You can use his normal attack to animation cancel or while waiting for the swap cooldown. However, I would not recommend leveling up his normal attack.
Elemental Skill: Skyward Sonnet
There are two instances of Venti’s elemental skill. When tapped it will deal AoE Anemo damage on a single target. Whereas, when held, Venti will deal greater damage while the AoE will be cast onto himself.
Elemental Burst: Wind’s Grand Ode
Venti creates a Stormeye a fixed distance away from him that sucks nearby enemies and deals continuous Anemo DMG. If one of the elements Hydro/Pyro/Cryo/Electro comes into contact with the Stormeye, it will infuse the Stromeye with that type and deal additional elemental DMG of that type. This effect will only happen to the first element it infuses with. This skill is where most of Venti’s utility comes from. This skill should be your first priority to level up.
Ascension 1 Passive: Embrace of the Winds
Using the hold version of Skyward Sonnet will create an upward current allowing players to launch themselves into the sky. This passive is useful for world exploration.
Ascension 4 Passive: Stormeye
Regenerates 15 energy when the effects of Venti’s elemental burst end. If the Stormeye is infused with another element, all characters of that element will also restore 15 energy.
Decreases gliding stamina by 20% for your own party members. Does not stack with other similar passives. A nice to have passive for world exploration.
For artifacts, his best-in-slot would be the 4pc Viridescent Venerer. Providing a 15% bonus Anemo DMG from its 2pc set and increasing Swirl DMG by 60%. Furthermore, decreases the opponent’s Elemental RES to the element infused in the Swirl by 40% making this set amazing for any Anemo characters. There really isn’t any other alternate artifact set I would recommend as this artifact set provides more damage for Venti’s elemental burst and increases other party members’ elemental damage.
For the stats you want to focus on for Venti is relatively easy. All you want to prioritize is Elemental Mastery as this stat increases the damage for elemental reactions. However, for the sub-stat, I would recommend
- Elemental Mastery
- Energy Recharge
- Crit Rate/ Crit DMG
For the goblet, you can either go for Anemo DMG or Elemental Mastery for its main stat. In my case, I have Anemo DMG which might not be the most optimal to maximize his damage.
For weapon choice, I would recommend the Elegy for the End. However, as I do not own this weapon I cannot share my experience using this weapon. What I can say is that the Elegy for the End is his best-in-slot weapon and should be used for him if you own it. So, if you do not own the Elegy for the End, I would recommend The Stringless. This weapon is exceptional for Venti because not only it provides Elemental Mastery from its sub-stat but the weapon effect increases Elemental Skill and Elemental Burst DMG by 48% at refinement 5. This weapon is probably his second best in slot weapon and should be used on Venti if you have one.
As always with my character builds, I will provide additional resources to view that provide a more in-depth explanation of the characters kit.
